I'm so grateful for the time each reviewer is taking with my new releases. This morning I was contacted by Ashley Faye, blogger for Truth About Books, with notice of my completed review. A. Faye gave Fovever Dolls an insightful 4-star review, and provided a tremendous glimpse at the opinion of the reader. As with any author, I brace for the reviews in hopes of - if nothing else, becoming a better writer with the application of helpful criticism. For this, I'm thankful :)

I was SO pleasantly surprised to be notified by Readers' Favorite that my new novella, WHEREVER YOU ARE (releasing in a few days!), garnered a five-star review! Out of everything I've written, I adore this story the most. It absolutely blessed my heart more than I can express that someone else "got" the story and could be there in the emotional caverns with me. I'm excited to see where God takes this tale in the future!
Whew, it's been busy. GOOD busy, though! As you've probably seen from my homepage: I just released my third novel, FOREVER DOLLS in October, as well as my new novella, WHEREVER YOU ARE, coming November 20th. Both are entertaining and moving stories in their own, distinct right. Forever Dolls is a spicy-sweet smalltown romance that will spark a lot of fire in book discussions. Wherever You Are is a meditative tale that explores some jarring, complex issues in light of the coming holiday season. Please check them out and leave me your honest reviews! Also, keep your ears peeled for notice of *FREE* book downloads! *Hint* Forever Dolls will be free this Friday and Saturday; Nov 14-15th :) Don't miss out...
Happy Spring! The transition of seasons has been beautiful and I recently finished an unexpected project. I completed my third novel, Forever Dolls, which is currently under a publishing editor's review. When she requested a traditional romance from me, I honestly didn't think I had a romance in me at the time. But with the faithful anointing of the Lord, a stirring story sprang from within, in only weeks. A charming departure from my former novel series, I'm excited to share this tale with readers. More details later! I'll still finish the final installment of the beloved Sarai Jenkins story in the future, so no one will be left hanging :)
As a writer, I was excited to have my poem "Sorry To Interrupt" selected for publication in the just-released anthology The Black Rose of Winter. This is my first published poem, so I'm grateful that Lost Tower Publications chose my work from the many submissions they received from all over the world. I owe my love/craft for writing to the One who created me to write!
Wow, it's been a while! I've been busy at work as an all-around artist: writing, blogging, publishing poetry, drawing, and my new latest love -- photography. I now have a portfolio of nearly 200 original stock photos available for licensing on Foap.com. It's been nice exploring all facets of creativity and stretching myself. Sarai's story is yet being written and my life is yet being shaped :-)
So, God really made it happen! The day of my sequel's book release is here, TODAY! The story is so special to me and I have a lot of pre-orders to mail out in the coming week. Most of all, I can't wait to talk with people and hear from my readers after they crack the book :-)
My excitement has made the journey worth the wait! Every step in the pilgrimage to September 30th is now shining bright when I look back in retrospect. Desperate Hope Arise, Book Two in my trilogy, will come off-press next week, and continue the cliff-hanging story of my favorite characters. Everyone's encouragement and anticipation has given me so much joy :) I can't wait for the discussions to start as my readers are taken on new, unpredictable, thrilling twists in Sarai's life...
I thank God that this day has arrived! <>< WHEW! This has been a year to end all (and it's only August). Almost a million times I didn't think I'd make it to this day, but by God's grace I'm emerging from the storm and finally overjoyed to be releasing my second novel next month. With everything this personal journey cost me, I know the Lord will rain mightily on all my readers, as I've been praying He would. My heart is heavy and light; sobered and tender, because of what happened on July 19th, and my eyes are ever Heavenward. Jesus is my anchor when life is nothing but a constant tempest!
Wow, it was great to check my email today and get the news I was hoping for. My novel just won the Beverly Hills Book Award for African-American Fiction! That's pretty exciting in my writing journey and makes me look forward to the future with even greater anticipation. My days at my laptop are loooong and arduous, but immeasurably rewarding. Sarai's story is unfolding by the day and sending me on unexpected twists at the keyboard. The "end" will be well worth it, so I can't wait to get there!
